The Hooks FFA Trap Team competed in the Bowie County Project Show Shoot-Out on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Maud Gun Club.
The BCPS Shoot-Out had 30 shooters representing Bowie County 4-H, DeKalb FFA, Simms FFA, Redwater FFA, and Hooks FFA.
Nine shooters represented Hooks FFA:

- James Moore III
- Carter Thomas
- Jackson Lenaway
- Stetson May
- Konley Golden
- Ford Pope
Ford Pope won the Junior Division Grand Champion buckle with a total of 83 points. William Moore won the Senior Division Reserve Champion buckle with a total of 93 points. James Moore brought home the third-place Senior Division banner with a total of 92 points. Jackson Lenaway earned the fourth-place banner in the Senior Division with a total of 87 points after shooting 20 points in a four-way tiebreaker shootout.
“What I enjoy most about going to trap shoots is the chance to meet new people who enjoy the same sport. It’s also really enjoyable when all the practice pays off and I end up doing well or even winning,” Carter Thomas said.
