At the April 2026 Area track meet in Atlanta, Texas, the Hooks Lady Hornets track and field team did a wonderful job, with several athletes securing spots for the regional meet.
Rayya Brown continued her dominant season by placing first in the shot put, while teammate Deonna Johnson placed fifth in the discus. The 4×100-meter relay team (Jade Vasquez, Rayya Brown, Mallorie Bishop, and Hope Rankin) took third place. Mallorie, who ran the 400-meter dash, also placed third to advance.
This recent momentum follows earlier successful showings, including the Mt. Vernon Invitational, where several athletes across various divisions consistently placed in the top three.
The Hooks High School track and field team delivered a standout performance at the UIL 3A Area 13–14 Championship.
