On April 27th, two teams from the Hooks FFA chapter competed in the Hubbard Build Off, an event focusing on agricultural fabrication. A Build Off is a specialized competition where teams are provided with raw materials and blueprints to construct an agricultural project from scratch within a specific time limit. This type of event requires students to demonstrate technical proficiency in welding, cutting, and assembly while adhering to strict industry standards. The chapter’s commitment to procedural safety was recognized when one of the Hooks teams was presented with the Safest Team Award, an honor given to the group that maintains the highest level of workspace organization and consistent use of personal protective equipment throughout the build. This achievement highlights the technical discipline and safety awareness being developed within the Hooks Ag Mechanics program.
