The Hooks FFA hosted its trap-shoot competition for 42 teams on Wednesday, November 12, at Buffalo Creek Gun Club in Ben Wheeler.
Placing first was the Hooks FFA Team 1, consisting of James Moore, William Moore, Cameron Baker, and Carter Thomas, with a total score of 275. This is the first time a Hooks team has ever placed first in its own tournament. Coming in third was Red River 4H with a team total score of 269. Following closely behind was Callisburg Team 1 with a team total score of 268.
The highest-scoring male individual was William Moore from Hooks FFA, scoring 98. The highest-scoring female individual was Hannah Hampton from Red River 4H, scoring 91.
When asked what advice he has for scoring higher, William Moore said, “Don’t think — just shoot.”
