Red Ribbon Week

Red+Ribbon+Week

Hooks kicked off its annual Red Ribbon Week on Monday. This week highlights the importance of living a drug-free life. Schools and communities are encouraged to reinforce drug-free messages in students. Spirit days bring students together and get everyone involved.

As participants of Red Ribbon Week, Hooks High School, with the help of the student council, organized the spirit days. Everyone is encouraged to come decked out and show their drug-free spirit.

Monday- Kick off Red Ribbon Week wear red.
Tuesday- Too real for drugs, dress like Barbie and Ken.
Wednesday- Dress for success (school picture day)
Thursday- Team up against drugs and dress like a friend.
Friday-  Too bright for drugs, wear neon colors.
Students are still expected to abide by the school dress code.

Red Ribbon Week is known as the nation’s largest and first drug prevention campaign. Students are given their red ribbons on the first day of the week and are encouraged to wear them proudly. The red ribbon has gold lettering inscribed with, “Live Drug-Free” and “Celebrate Red Ribbon Week, not just for a week- but for life.”
