Callie Morris, a 17-year-old junior at Hooks High School, is outstanding and has a bright future. Outside of school, Morris enjoys spending time with her family and caring for her horse, Buster.
When Morris graduates, she plans to complete cosmetology school and then return to college for business management so she can open her own business.
Advice Callie wishes to share with current and incoming freshmen is: don’t miss a lot of school. She also wishes she had experienced less drama during her freshman year; she regrets not staying in FCCLA and not doing better on her TAFE project.
A teacher she looks up to is Mrs. Morphew. Callie chose Mrs. Morphew because she would take time out of her day to help Callie with anything she needed and to help improve her grades. Mrs. Morphew allowed Morris to come in during her last period so she could understand her college-level work and focus in a quiet classroom.
Two quotes Morris lives by are “Stay afraid, but do it anyway” (Carrie Fisher) and her favorite, “Love all” (Shakespeare).
