The Hooks Hornets defeated the DeKalb Bears, 49–22. Ripken Birdwell was a key player; he rushed for 170 yards and passed for 148 yards. The team won the game because every player worked together and showed amazing athleticism, sportsmanship, and courage.
Kavon Stiger said, “Talent wins games; we showed that last Friday night.” This game was the Hornets’ last district game, and now they are headed to the playoffs. Hooks’ first-round playoff game is Friday, Nov. 15, at Prairieland against Lone Oak.
