In anticipation of their game against the Copper Bulldogs, the Hooks Hornets dressed as their favorite Michael on Friday, Sept. 1st. Spirit days are usually predictable, but this one was anything but.

Many students came in different versions of Michael Jackson, the pop sensation. With sunglasses, hats, black tops, and sneakers, the campus became a full-on red carpet. Adding to the celebrity category was Senior Jaidyn Henderson. She and others dressed as Michael B. Jordan, specifically his costume from the movie, Creed.

This Fridays spirit day boosted moral, which is essential for games,” HHS Senior and Cheerleader, Alee Winiford added.

The cheerleaders and their sponsers are the ones who decide the spirit days.

Senior Karyssa Riley dressed as the character, Prison Mike, from the popular sitcom The Office. She came to school wearing the iconic purple bandana. Students couldn’t leave out Michael Jordan, the former professional basketball player. HHS attendees wore jerseys, basketball shorts, and sneakers to recreate his persona. Mini basketballs were also spotted throughout the classrooms.

Funny enough, a couple of the HHS staff are named Michael. Seniors Maddie Campbell and Logan Baker dressed as football coach Michael Baysinger. Other students dressed as the high school Vice Principal, Michael Jackson.

HHS English teacher Mrs. Allen recreated Michael Myers from the series of Halloween slasher films. Students and staff were impressed by her costume and dedication to the role. Some class periods even had the horror character’s music playing as background music.

No matter your favorite Michael, everyone can agree that Hornet Fight Never Dies!
