“The Lion King” is a very emotional movie, but it is a great choice for a movie night! The most replayed parts of this movie definitely include Scar torturing Mufasa, which leads to Simba’s years of not being able to learn how to be the future king. A short summary of this movie is that the beginning presents a happy place with different types of animals. This place is known as “The Circle of Life,” and every animal loved the king, also known as Mufasa. Mufasa’s older brother, Scar, was the complete opposite of Mufasa; Scar had a very dark sense of humor and disliked all the other animals except for the hyenas, with whom he even had his own place. Mufasa had always dreamed of his son Simba becoming king, but Scar did not like that idea. Scar eventually sent his hyenas to the Pride Lands to attempt to take that spot from Simba and to sabotage him. This movie is definitely a good choice if you feel the need to cry; it features expressive personalities and the way these characters act. Overall, I rate this movie a 10/10 because it is my favorite movie of all time, and I think kids should definitely watch it and enjoy the fun songs that are sung in this film.
