Hooks FFA had another impressive showing at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, bringing home the Herdsman Award for the sixth year in a row while also competing in cattle shows and exhibiting agricultural mechanic projects.
The Herdsman Award is given to the FFA exhibit that keeps its stalls clean, takes great care of its animals, and demonstrates good sportsmanship. Winning it six years in a row proves the hard work and dedication of Hooks FFA members.
But the success didn’t stop there. Hooks FFA students also showed high-quality cattle, representing their chapter in breeding classes. The team spent months preparing their animals, ensuring they were well-fed, groomed, and ready to compete against top exhibitors from across the state.
In addition to livestock, Hooks FFA students exhibited agricultural mechanic projects, showcasing their skills in welding, woodworking, and metal fabrication. These student-built projects highlighted their knowledge of agricultural engineering and craftsmanship, impressing judges and visitors alike.
“Our members put in countless hours getting ready for this show,” Hooks FFA President and show team member Mason Carlow said. “Whether it was caring for their cattle or keeping their area in top shape, they showed incredible dedication.”
Meanwhile, the Hooks FFA Ag Mechanics Team showcased their exceptional craftsmanship and dedication at a recent competition, earning blue ribbons across the board for their outstanding agricultural mechanics projects. The team’s hard work and skill in welding, fabrication, and design proved unmatched as they impressed judges and spectators alike.
Competing against some of the best young mechanics in the region, the Hooks FFA students presented a variety of high-quality projects, each demonstrating precision, innovation, and practical application in the agricultural industry. Their commitment to excellence paid off as every single project earned the highest rating possible.
With another successful year at Fort Worth, Hooks FFA members are already looking ahead to their next competitions, determined to continue their winning tradition.
