A mock election was held during lunch on Nov. 4 outside the cafeteria. Senior Ainslee Hill organized the election for an independent research project in government class.
Signing up a week prior to the election was required to participate in voting. To encourage participation, refreshments were provided upon registration.
“I believe the mock election was a great opportunity for students to engage in something new and important, especially since we will all be able to officially vote soon,” Junior Laila Harmon said. “Voting is a privilege in the United States, so I wanted to contribute to such practice.”
By establishing a sense of patriotism in local schools, voting has become a priority for all ages.
