Members from all 50 states and two territories gathered in Indianapolis, Indiana for the 97th Annual National FFA Convention & Expo on Oct. 23rd-26th, showcasing the strength and unity of agricultural education. The Hooks FFA Chapter, represented by officers Mason Carlow, Kaitlyn Haley, Laci Jo Petty, Kimberly Vasquez, Colton Grayson, Lexi Reyenga, James Moore, and Bailey Smith, was proud to be part of this significant event, highlighting the dedication of its members.
The journey began in Nashville, Tennessee, where the Hooks FFA officers engaged in a cultural experience by visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame and the historic Ryman Auditorium.
“It was an incredible experience to immerse ourselves in the rich musical heritage of Nashville before heading to the convention,” President Mason Carlow said.
Upon arriving in Indiana, the students participated in various activities, including general sessions and national community service projects at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. They also explored local attractions like Crown Hill Cemetery and Fair Oaks Farms, which provided valuable insights into agriculture and community engagement.
“Attending the National Convention is a true honor for our chapter,” Carlow said. “It takes hard work and dedication to travel so far, demonstrating what it means to be an FFA member. We return home inspired and ready to make a difference.”
