The varsity football team took their second win of the season, facing off against the Queen City Bulldogs on Sept. 27 at 7:30 pm, at the Bulldogs stadium. Hornet fans filled the visitors side to capacity, eager to watch the Mighty Hornets take on the Bulldogs.
There was a slow start to the game, with a score of only 7-0 in the first half. Fortunately, in the 4th quarter the Bulldogs missed their field goal, which cost them the game. Making the final score 14-13 with the Hornets taking the win back home.
After the Atlanta game, Coach Keith Touchstone had commented on any areas the football team needed to work on. Then, during the Queen City game, remarked on any refinements made within those areas.
“We did improve on stopping the penalties,” Touchstone said. “There is always room for improvement.”
Now, with the Queen City win under their belt, the Hornets are preparing to take on Oklahoma City Christian on Oct. 4th.
