For the first home game of the season, the varsity football team suffered a loss while facing off against the Atlanta Rabbits on Sept. 6th at 7:30 pm, at the Hive.
Unfortunately, there were two rain delays that lasted for about an hour each, which caused the game to end around 12:00 a.m. The game also included multiple penalties by both the players and the coaches.
“We need to stop the penalties and then we can focus on the game,” Coach Keith Touchstone said, after being asked what could the Hornets do better to prepare for the next game.
The game continued through the rain delays and ended with a score of 28-21, with the Hornets taking their first loss of the season.
