TAFE, a Texas organization founded in 1984, finally made its way to the HHS campus last year. TAFE is the Texas Association of Future Educators, which focuses on projects based around education. TAFE is also associated with Educators Rising, an organization which hosts members across the nation. The HHS TAFE chapter is led, for the second year in a row, by advisor Crystal Leiva.

“I’m very excited for this upcoming year and ready to see where members take this organization,” Leiva said.

Last year, members competed at regionals in Texarkana and five advanced to state at the Kalahari Resort. Four members, who competed at the state competition, then qualified for nationals in Washington, D.C.
