Hooks FFA kicked off the school year with their annual Hooks FFA Summer Blowout livestock show on Aug. 26th. Cattle showmanship started promptly at 6:00 pm, with classes that followed, and small animal showmanship was held prior to the start of each breed.
Livestock exhibitors from all over the state of Texas traveled to Hooks for buckles, banners, and a night full of memories. The livestock show had a mix of food from venders all over Texarkana, as well as a Sullivan Supply tack trailer. Prizes were given out to reserve and breed champions, as well as overall reserve and supreme champion animals.
The Hooks FFA livestock team participated in the show as well, exhibiting their cattle and working the ring.
“We have all worked so hard to put on the show, with the many prizes and vendors,” FFA Chapter President Mason Carlow said. “Since I am a senior, it was a good way to end my last summer blowout show!”
Hooks FFA wants to give big thank you to everyone who helped, and Jenna Hein and Todd Mayes for judging this years show!
