On August 3rd, Hooks High School hosted their annual Watermelon Supper at The Hive football stadium. The supper is used as a community get together to highlight the senior athletes and introduce the coaches, whether returning or new. The supper is a well-known event, for many see it as the official kick off to the school year and the beginning of football and volleyball season.
The supper is a chance for all incoming students and current high school students to get together and socialize with one another. It also gives parents a chance to see who is going to be coaching their children in athletics, and to see the athletes who they will be supporting in the upcoming school year.
“The watermelon supper is a great tradition our school has; it is a great way to bring the town together,” senior Jaidyn Henderson said.
