Tomorrow, the Theatre and Debate program will host a talent show starting at 2:45 p.m. in the HHS auditorium. The entrance fee is $1 for students and $5 for the community.

“I like hosting the talent show because it gives students a chance to show off skills and talents they may not otherwise have the chance to,” Theater and Debate Teacher Brynn Woods said.

There will be many different acts such as singing, dancing, playing instruments, and skits.

“I’m very excited to sing,” senior Mackenzie Roy said. “I’ve done the Talent Show before, but there are still many people who have not heard me sing that I would love to leave my mark on before I go.”

Roy has participated in the talent show for the past three years and will be continuing this year, singing “All I Ask” by Adele. Another senior, DK Shackleford, will also be taking the stage for a fourth time to sing.

“I feel like I need to be my best yet, and challenge myself this year,” Shackleford said. “I’m not sure what exactly I’ll be singing, but I do know it will be upbeat and exciting.”

This event is inspiring for the community, as it highlights the student’s strengths. For Hooks, it is an important fundraiser which is held every year. The fundraiser is one of the biggest for Theatre and Debate, as it helps start these programs off into a successful year. We hope to see you there supporting Hooks’ wonderful talent.
