High School Send-Off
HHS to hold annual senior week May 22nd – 25th
May 22, 2023
Starting today, the HHS Seniors are jumping into senior week, a time packed with fun activities and experiences. The week is adored by seniors and is something they look forward to all year.
The activities include a trip to Adventure Landing and a voyage to Elliot Lake. The week serves as a “last hurrah” for the 12th-grade students. The majority of the students have been together since prekindergarten, so the inevitable ending to the school year is bittersweet.
Today, seniors travel to Adventure Landing, in Dallas, Texas, which has mini golf, bumper cars, go-karts, and arcade games for the students to enjoy. They will split their time there and at a shopping mall, catering to every student’s interest.
“Escaping school will be nice for the day,” senior Price Clemmons said.
Lastly, the Elliot Lake trip is a relaxing day at the waterfront. During this trip, Coach Fountain presents the seniors with his legendary eating challenge. The challenge is to consume two sausage links, a fried egg, three burger patties, and a chicken breast standing all about a foot tall. Many have attempt the food challenge in the past, but few have conquer it.
“I feel like it will be a good chance to hang out with everybody, collectively, for one last time,” senior Haylee Gerber said.
The class of 2023 has much to look forward to in life, with this noteworthy week being a proper high school send-off.
