How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days follows a female magazine writer, Andie Anderson, in New York City. Andie writes “how-to” articles and is looking for a story that can prove her abilities. After hearing of her best friend’s nasty breakup, she thought of an almost satirical idea. She wanted to get a boyfriend and cause him to break up with her in 10 days. At the same time, Benjamin Barry, an advertising executive, bets he can make a woman fall in love with him in ten days or less. Whether by coincidence or fate, the two meet and immediately start working their charms, or not charms on each other.

The movie is definitely a go-to classic when I am feeling down and need a cheesy rom-com to watch. The casting directors excelled when picking out the main actors, Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. They both have a wide range of abilities and astounding chemistry.

Seeing Kate Hudson on the movie poster was what sparked my interest. I adored this movie and its story. On a rating scale, I would give it an 8.5/10. I deducted the rating because I would have liked to see a larger level of character development. For instance, seeing more background information about the supporting characters would have enhanced the story delivery.
