HHS celebrates National Counselor Appreciation Week

Honoring the Best

Alaska Baker, Reporter

Hooks High School celebrated National Counselor Appreciation Week these past few days, in honor of our high school counselors Crystal Roach and Shelley Hackett. To show our appreciation, Secretary Tonja Fields ordered them gift baskets from Fields of Flowers, which contained snacks, sonic gift cards and more.

The office staff presented these two baskets to our beloved counselors, who were extremely grateful for their gifts.

“I love my position as a school counselor,” Roach said. “Mrs. Hackett and I certainly felt the love with gifts of appreciation.”

Between the two of them, Roach and Hackett serve around 315 students who attend Hooks High School.

“I feel super honored,” Hackett said. “I’m so thankful to be part of the Hornet family and serve the best group of students.”

Hooks ISD’s other campuses also celebrated their counselors this week, honoring Shannon Diamond from the elementary and Debbie Krueger from the middle school. Hooks ISD, and especially Hooks High School, appreciates the dedication, hard work, and extraordinary love shown by all of our counselors.
