HHS provides career prep for juniors, seniors
December 2, 2022
Hooks High School provides a career prep course available for juniors and seniors to take, giving lessons on how to fill out real-world resumes and documents.
Currently, the organization has eight senior students who are enrolled. The students who are in this program are released from school at noon every day.
“I have 2 students working at the Sonic in Nash, 2 work at Dixie Diner in Nash, 1 works at 413 Construction, 1 works at Muttworks, 1 works at Ledwell, 1 works at Olive Garden, and 1 works for here at the school,” Program Supervisor Lisa Morris said.
Each member is required to have 15 hours of work a week and a career prep class is required if the student is in the work program. The job must be available for Morris to visit.
“I hope these students learn a lot about how to get along with coworkers and bosses, and discipline themselves on how to manage time. . .” Morris said. “Maybe next year more will join the Career Prep class.”
