Theatre prepares for One Act

Ushering in a new group of students, HHS theatre has begun preparations for their competition season. This year, the theatre classes have had significant growth, as compared to the last few years.

“I’m really excited to work with a new group and cultivate their talents,” theatre instructor Brynn Woods said.

The theatre classes have already started to work on improvs, as well as many speech and vocal warmups. Additionally, some students have taken the opportunity to create student written plays, and these will be performed once completed and reviewed.

“Writing is difficult, but I have enjoyed the challenge,” senior Xavier Williams said. “We even made a comedy skit and it was fun!”

The scripts should be completed before One Act. This year, they plan to exercise their full potential to bring a win home. It is a UIL event that is a part of Hooks tradition.
