The Mighty Hornet Marching Band kicked off the 2022 marching season last Friday at the Hooks Vs. Harmony football game. The band’s show this year, titled The Great Locomotive Chase, is well in the works. The show has a steampunk theme and lots of amazing music, including Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train”.

The band members this year are very excited about the show as well.

“This year’s music is my favorite by far,” junior band member Hailee Hill said. “I am most looking forward to wearing the color guard uniform because it is very pretty, and the hair and makeup with it will make it a lot cooler. I am also looking forward to spinning part 3, it has the best music and routine of the whole show.”

Along with the show, the band will be performing in the stands at games and pep rallies. The band really enjoys these performances because they are loud, fun, and have an all-around good time.

“My favorite thing about the band has always been the pep rallies” freshman band member Corbin Curtis said. “In middle school, they were the best part of the week and I am hoping that high school pep rallies are even better.”

As of now, the band will only be performing at football games and pep rallies. They will start their marching contests on September 24 at the Pleasant Grove marching contest. These contests are open to the public with an entrance fee, so anyone who would like to is free to show up and support the Mighty Hornet Marching Band.
